About us
Northern Sydney Community Transport Group (NSCTG) connects people by providing safe, appropriate and affordable transport services to local community members needing transport assistance.
We are a not-for-profit organisation created from the merger of Lower North Shore Community Transport (locally known as Community Connect) and Stryder.
NSCTG receives funding from the Federal Government, NSW State Government and North Sydney Council, and we have offices in Crows Nest and Hunters Hill.
What we do
NSCTG was formed in 2024 as part of a merger of two existing community transport organisations - Lower North Shore Community Transport (known as Community Connect) and Stryder.
The aim of NSCTG is to enhance the well-being of the frail and aged, people with a disability and their carers, together with other transport-disadvantaged residents of Sydney’s North Shore, Ryde and Hunters Hill.
Our transport services are provided by experienced drivers of cars and buses for purposes such as medical appointments, shopping, social outings, and other trips and activities. Many of our services are wheelchair accessible.
Further information about our organisation can be found on our websites: http://communityconnect.org.au/ and https://stryder.org.au/
Member of the Board
NSCTG is at a pivotal moment—completing a merger, navigating a rapidly evolving transport landscape, and crafting a bold strategy for the future. We are looking for two passionate and skilled professionals to join our Board and play a key role in driving positive change.
As a Board Member, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the well-being of our community by enhancing access to reliable transport services. You’ll be part of a supportive, collegial Board that values diverse expertise and fresh perspectives.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in accounting and financial management and/or marketing. People with professional accounting qualifications will be highly regarded. All relevant skills will be considered.
Board Members also actively participate in at least one of our committees (Audit, Risk and Compliance, Merger and Strategy, or Finance). The Board meets approximately six times per year for three-hour sessions, plus an annual strategy day. Committees meet around ten times per year for one-hour sessions. Meetings are typically held in person at Crows Nest, with additional time required for preparation and correspondence.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute your expertise, expand your network, and make a lasting difference in community transport. If you’re ready to step up and be part of something meaningful, we’d love to hear from you!
Once you have filled in the following form, your details will be emailed directly to Northern Sydney Community Transport Group.
