BPA Children’s Services is a vibrant, not-for-profit organisation delivering 36 early childhood education and care services across Melbourne’s western suburbs. Every day, our 400+ staff support over 2,500 young children and their families, ensuring access to safe, equitable, and culturally responsive early learning opportunities.

About the Role

As a BPA Board Member, you will:

  • Shape Strategy: Guide BPA’s long-term goals and ensure alignment with our mission.
  • Provide Financial Oversight: Monitor financial performance and ensure responsible use of resources.
  • Ensure Compliance: Uphold legal and ethical standards, including child protection regulations.
  • Support Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to the organisation.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Act as a bridge between BPA and government, local councils, and the community.
  • Advocate: Promote BPA and support its role as a leader in early childhood education.
  • Board members are appointed for a two-year term with the possibility of extension.

Board members must:

  • Attend 6-8 board meetings per year (mix of in-person and online).
  • Join a board committee (Finance & Risk or Governance & Appointments).
  • Complete compliance checks, including WWCC, National Police Check, and Director’s ID.
