WAGEC has two exciting opportunities available to join our Board. Use your governance and leadership experience to help grow our organisation, and create safe futures for women and children.
The Board of Directors is responsible for the governance and strategic leadership of WAGEC. We are seeking passionate, strategic-minded individuals with strong experience and knowledge in communication, risk management, financial acumen and decision-making.
We are particularly interested in hearing from people who could offer us experience and expertise in fundraising, campaigning, IT and systems transformation.
The core responsibilities of this role are:
- Apply your teamwork and leadership skills as part of the Board of Directors, working with the CEO and Deputy CEO to review, develop, and implement WAGEC's long-term strategic vision
- Oversee all governance and compliance matters to ensure WAGEC adheres to all necessary legal and regulatory requirements and ethical and sustainable standards
- Employ strong financial and business acume to assess, guide and make decisions on WAGEC's financial stability, sustainability, and growth
- Identify, assess and evaluate internal and external risks for the organisation, ensuring appropriate management processes are in place
- Apply your excellent communication and influencing skills for effective stakeholder consultation and management.
Additionally, our areas of focus for these two roles are:
- Experience, skills and knowledge of fundraising and campaign strategy
- Connections or the ability to establish effective relationships with major donors, philanthropic agencies, corporate partners
- Experience and knowledge of IT/technology solutions
- Systems transformation
- Cyber-security and risk management.
