Join the Board of NASAA & NCO – Help Shape the Future of Sustainable Agriculture

The National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia (NASAA) and NASAA Certified Organic (NCO) are seeking new Board Members (multiple positions) to guide our organisations through the next phase of its development.

About NASAA & NCO

Established in 1986, NASAA is a non-profit membership-based association dedicated to supporting and promoting organic, biodynamic, and sustainable agricultural practices. We support the organic sector through advocacy, industry representation, training, education, policy development and the development of organic standards. NASAA also works to build networks across the supply chain and provides resources to help farmers, processors, and businesses transition to and maintain organic certification. Through our certification business, NCO, we offer organic certification services across Australia and internationally, ensuring compliance with various national and international organic standards.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, with or without prior board experience. While experience in the sustainable agriculture industry—such as farming, food processing, government, or industry associations—is desirable, we also encourage applications from those in adjacent or completely different industries who can bring fresh perspectives.

Skills in any of the following areas will be highly valued:

  • Business management & strategy
  • Association management & governance
  • Marketing & communications
  • Finance
  • Fundraising, grant writing & resource mobilisation

Commitment & Remuneration

This position is open to individuals across Australia. Responsibilities include:

  • Participation in 8-10 online board meetings per annum, with 1-2 being in-person in Adelaide
  • Engagement in communications between meetings
  • The role offers a modest remuneration and covers any necessary travel expenses.

Why Join Us?

  • Contribute to the growth and integrity of Australia’s sustainable and organic agriculture sector
  • Engage with a dynamic network of industry professionals
  • Play a key role in shaping the future of sustainability and organic certification

If you have the skills and passion to support the sustainable agriculture industry through NASAA and NCO, we’d love to hear from you.
