Joining the Leadership Plus Board will provide you with the opportunity to contribute an organisation dedicated to working with people with disability, with priority given to Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Culturally & Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities and deep experience in supported decision making and working with people with Intellectual Disability. Our Board comprises motivated individuals who are committed to advancing our purpose and vision. Through your service to the board, you will play a vital role in assisting Leadership Plus in better addressing the needs of these communities and helping to guide the strategy and development of the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Leadership Plus board’s governance and strategic direction consistent independent director obligations
  • Ensure board maintains degree of financial literacy necessary to conduct the business of Leadership Plus, including advising the board on matters of finances and accounting
  • Attend monthly finance & risk committee meetings, monitor monthly income & expenses
  • Present financial report at board meetings
  • Ensure the development of an annual budget

 

Key Selection Criteria

  • The ability to make a contribution by adding value to a worthwhile enterprise that empowers people with disability and social/economic disadvantage
  • Experience in the disability sector, social services, or related policy, management, finance, or governance would be well regarded.
  • Availability to attend 80% of ordinary Board meetings throughout the year (5 meetings/year)
  • Attendance at the AGM
  • Participation in other irregular organisational functions when possible.
  • A CA/CPA qualification or relevant experience
  • A sense of humour.
