Board Member Vacancy – Paws for Connection

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of the elderly and strengthening community connections through the power of pets? Paws for Connection is seeking a dedicated and experienced board member to join our governance team.

About Us

Paws for Connection is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships between elderly individuals and volunteer dog walkers. Through our programs, we aim to enhance social inclusion, mental well-being, and physical health while promoting responsible pet ownership.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a board member with expertise in NFP governance, legal, or finance to help guide our organization’s strategic direction, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and support our financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the charity’s mission and operations.
  • Ensure legal and financial compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Contribute expertise in governance, finance, or legal matters to support decision-making.
  • Assist in securing funding and ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Advocate for the charity and help expand our network of supporters and stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience in not-for-profit governance, legal, or financial management.
  • A strong commitment to community service and social impact.
  • Understanding of compliance obligations for Australian charities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • The ability to dedicate time to quarterly board meetings and occasional strategic planning sessions.

Commitment & Benefits
