About Us:

Mount Eliza Neighbourhood House Inc. envisions a healthy, inclusive, and connected community through collaborative educational, recreational, and social programs. We aim to create a community where everyone has access to lifelong learning, social engagement, and support in a safe, welcoming environment.

Position: Ordinary Board Member (Voluntary)

Are you passionate about your community and excited to make a positive impact? Mount Eliza Neighbourhood House is seeking an Ordinary Board (Governance Committee) Member who shares our vision of fostering a strong, thriving community. We are looking for someone with a commitment to community development and a passion for giving back. Whether you bring specialized skills in secretarial work, marketing, legal, governance, or other areas, your expertise and enthusiasm will help guide the Neighbourhood House in its mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Board to oversee effective management and strong governance of the House.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making that aligns with our vision and mission.
  • Attend bi-monthly Board meetings, contributing your insights and expertise to discussions.
  • Bring any specialized skills you may have (secretarial, marketing, legal, etc.) to help enhance the House’s operations and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Prior governance experience, corporate and/or in the not-for-profit sector, charitable organisations, or similar (desirable but not essential).
  • A genuine passion for community development and creating positive social impact.
  • An enthusiasm for giving back to the community and being part of initiatives that bring people together.
  • A desire to contribute your skills and expertise, whether in governance, marketing, legal, or other relevant areas.

Appointment Details:

  • Appointed by the Board / Governance Committee in accordance with the Rules of Association.
  • Flexible appointment timeline.
