URGENT!

We are seeking a highly experienced professional, with a passion in the field of perinatal mental health, to join us in an advisory (voluntary) capacity, offering expertise in business operations, growth, and the scaling of not-for-profit initiatives.

We are a currently applying for a tender with QLD Health, and if successful, the role could then move into a formal Advisory Board of Director role with continued oversight. The ideal candidate will bring years of experience in business strategy, legal and financial matters, and a deep understanding of government tenders and funding processes.

As an advisor, you will play a pivotal role in helping improve the feasibility and expansion of our charity and assisting with the tender application requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic advice on business operations and scaling up charity initiatives and service programs.

Offer insights into legal, financial, and compliance matters, ensuring strong governance practices.

Advise on the development of new business models, revenue streams, and partnerships.Support in preparing and reviewing government tenders and grant applications

Assist in building financial resilience and ensuring effective use of resources.

Provide expert guidance on best practices for operational growth within the not-for-profit sector.

Help the organisation to enhance its outreach, advocacy, and program development efforts.

About The Organisation

Motherhood Village Ltd is a grassroots, community led Charity on the Gold Coast. Currently we are the only lived experience peer-led perinatal mental health group support service on the Gold Coast.

We offer perinatal and postpartum mental health peer support group sessions to mothers or parents with a history of mental health issues, a current diagnosis of perinatal mental ill health, and those at risk of developing perinatal mental ill health.

We support the mental health and wellbeing of mothers on the Gold Coast during the vulnerable and often challenging perinatal period and early parenthood stages. Our perinatal mental health peer support services aim to protect, prevent, and reduce the risk of relapse of pre-existing mental health conditions, and the emergence of new mental illnesses that can have a lasting impact on new mothers, their partners, their infants and families, and communities.

Selection Criteria

Proven experience in business operations, growth, and scaling in the not-for-profit sector.

Legal and financial qualifications, with strong experience in governance, compliance, and strategic planning.

A deep understanding of the operational and funding landscape for charities, including government tenders.

Previous experience in advising or mentoring not-for-profit organisations, particularly within the mental health or perinatal sectors, is highly desirable.

Strong passion for community-based initiatives, particularly those supporting the mental health of mothers and parents during the perinatal period and early parenthood years.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
