Expressions of interest are sought to fill three vacancies on the Whittlesea Community Connections (WCC) Board.

About Us

WCC is a dynamic, place-based community led organisation, delivering a range of services and programs to meet community needs, encourage participation and involvement.

WCC provides a wide range of services including legal assistance, food relief, volunteering, settlement, training, employment and youth services, community information and community development initiatives such as prevention of family violence. As an information and referral service WCC has access to information and resources to support people’s access to other essential services (eg mental health, homelessness, family violence).

More than 200 volunteers work along-side WCC staff in a range of service planning, delivery and governance roles, extending our reach into community and helping to build trust in the organisation.

With 50 years of service delivery, WCC has developed extensive relationships and partnerships with local community groups, service organisations, government departments and other relevant stakeholders across our region and in key activity areas.

The Opportunity

The organisation is in a strong financial and governance position and has a highly regarded and effective operational leadership.  The Board is seeking to strengthen and broaden its membership, and is actively recruiting Board members with a range of skills and abilities.

Our strategic priorities focus on gender equity, employment, young people, community connection and climate resilience. We operate with a strong values set focussing on self determination and independence, and fostering diversity in a respectful non-judgemental environment.

About You

You are an individual with a passion to make a difference in your community.  You have expertise in social enterprise, marketing and communication, or fund raising. You may have had experience at a Board or Senior level.

You have established networks that can support the achievement of our strategic priorities.  Through your lived experience and your local and personal connections you bring to the role an understanding of the communities we serve.

You currently, or in the past may have, volunteered, lived, worked or studied in the Whittlesea municipality or have had a connection to the community.  We are also interested to hear from other individuals whose skill and expertise would benefit the operation of the Board and the organisation.
