Our Mission: The Goonawarra Neighbourhood House will facilitate opportunities for community strengthening by engaging dynamically with the community to ensure a service that is responsive to the local needs and issues.
Goonawarra Neighbourhood House (GNH) is a place-based community development organisation based in Sunbury that provides inclusive programs to the local community and surrounds. Current programs include playgroups, social activities, recreational courses, engagement programs for at-risk children and teenagers, and well-being programs. Our programs are developed in response to community need, based on direct feedback and community needs assessments.
Through this approach, we encourage change and growth to improve the social, environmental, and cultural infrastructures within the local community and individuals. We seek to be inclusive and supportive of people from diverse backgrounds and varying abilities. We believe every individual has inherent worth, knowledge and skills
Our Neighbourhood House is managed by an elected Committee of Management made up of local volunteers who guide the governance and strategic vision of the House. We are currently seeking new committee members! The committee meets every second month on Tuesday evenings via Zoom.
