Since 2008, Abacus has touched the lives of over 700 families who travel from all over Melbourne to access our centre-based early intervention and therapy programs.
At the heart of our service, we are committed to helping autistic children connect, communicate and learn. Abacus ABA is based on extensive clinical experience and research. The team focus on improving a child’s ability to effectively learn in social and educational settings. Ensuring every child has fun and is motivated is a key element of each one of the tailored programs that meets the needs of both the individual student and their families.
Abacus now has an opportunity for people with the passion, skills and enthusiasm to make-a-difference with a long-standing and respected charity helping autistic children.
The Board is comprised of a collaborative group of talented professionals who are committed to helping Abacus continue to achieve with autism. Directors meet bi-monthly (in-person and online) for 2-3 hours and outside of the Board meetings, Directors support the organisation through mentoring staff and attending various fund-raising events.
We are currently seeking expressions of interest from candidates with diverse experience and skills. Previous board/secretary and/or NDIS experience will be viewed favourably (but not essential).
