SA Makers is a volunteer run, not for profit organisation. We auspice and oversee Makerspace Adelaide, Repair Cafe Adelaide and Repair Cafe Blackwood.

The Secretary role includes:

  • Support the Chair in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Committee and Association
  • Ensure statutory requirements are met including registration, reporting, changes to governing documents etc.
  • Ensuring elections are in line with stipulated procedures
  • Responding to correspondence
  • Upload AGM minutes to website
  • Maintain SA Makers membership database in JoinIt - produce reports as needed
  • Email and Slack notification of AGMs
  • Prepare and circulate voting slips and proxy voting
  • Take meeting minutes (shared)
  • Create forms, documents etc as needed eg. agenda templates
  • Prepare board meeting agendas and circulate
  • Schedule board meetings in video conferencing service-notify board members of meetings
  • Check that all members are paid up before AGM, notify any who haven’t paid
  • Make regular reports to the board (frequency determined by board)
  • Maintain Google Drive and any physical documents and filing systems
