BOARD DIRECTOR (Voluntary)

Moreton Bay Wildlife Hospital Foundation is a community founded, not for profit organisation with a vision to improve outcomes for native wildlife in the City of Moreton Bay through fundraising, advocacy, research and education.

We will achieve this vision by establishing a dedicated native wildlife hospital for injured and orphaned native animals where they can be treated by highly skilled veterinary professionals and then be assessed for rehabilitation or release.

Overview

The Moreton Bay Wildlife Hospital Foundation seeks to recruit a new board member who can contribute to realising the vision of constructing the Moreton Bay Wildlife Hospital.  Established in 2022, the current Board comprises five members.  The addition of a new board member aims to enhance the overall skill set, filling gaps within our board skill set matrix and complementing the expertise of existing members.

The role

It is important that you are passionate about protecting and saving native wildlife.

You will have strong communication and advocacy skills, with experience in building relationships with industry and/or government officials.

Ideally (but not essential) you will have some experience serving on not-for-profit boards, familiarity with best practices in governance, and a commitment to organisation transparency and accountability.

This is a voluntary role with bi-quarterly meetings which can be attended via teams where needed.  There will also be some in person meetings and opportunities to meet with stakeholders including government and industry.
