Computer & Hardware PackagesOur Community has found that prices in the computer market change rapidly. For the best deals you should keep track of latest offers from major suppliers such as Dell and ACER. At these sites you can configure your own PC and place an online order direct with the manufacturer.
If you are looking for a second hand, or refurbished PC check out the Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher program and see if you are eligible to receive a free, or low cost PC and a Windows Operating System. The largest Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher is Green PC. Green PC's computers and software are made available to low-income communities, community organisations and eligible individuals. And for schools, the Computer Technologies for Schools Project provides surplus Commonwealth Government and private sector computers and ICT equipment to schools across Australia to enable students and teachers to better understand new technologies. Catholic, Independent and State/Territory schools across Australia are eligible to apply for donated hardware. As another alternative, the Computerbank Project runs an initiative to supply free computers running the open source Operating System, Linux, to community groups, disadvantaged schools and low income individuals. In addition to supplying fully-functional systems, Computerbank provides basic training and support. Further information can be obtained via their website. |
