We work with young people who have been forced to leave Burma and now live in Thailand as displaced people with little access to further education and other basic rights. These young people are full of ideas for smart solutions which will help them and their communities, but they need outside help to make their vision a reality.
Your money can help these young people from Burma to build their future through education and skills-based training.
In consultation with a determined group of students, the Build Project has established the Institute of Academic and Practical Studies (IAPS), a residential centre for 17-23 year olds in Mae Sot, Thailand. IAPS provides training (mostly delivered in English) in a range of subjects, including Thai, English language, computer skills, office administration, social sciences and community development.
This education and training will enable students to make the most of the opportunities that are available to them, build positive connections in Thai society, and create positive change within their marginalised community.
The Build Project and IAPS are volunteer-run, non-profit organisations funded entirely by donations.
Your donation will help to provide:
- food, boarding and personal essentials for students
- teaching materials, including textbooks and other educational supplies
- classroom computers and internet access
