To actively recognise the ability and desire of queer (Gay & Lesbian)and queer positive athletes who choose to participate in the sport of rowing.

To foster an environment of support and eductaion and exchange to alleviate discrimintation in the sport and culture of rowing on the basis of queer sexual and gender identity

To provide the membership with access to rowing equipment, coaching and training opportunities as determined by the committee for the purposes of participation in the sport.

To facilitate the full participation of membership regardless of members economic contribution.

To require the members to share according to their means the responsibilities of maintaining the goals and programs of the association.

To welcome all members into the association without discrimination.

The Queer Rowing Association of Victoria - Melbourne Argonauts, is an openly Gay & Lesbian Rowing Club, affiliated with Rowing Victoria. The club participates in the mainstream regattas. The club largely exists to provide openly Gay & Lesbian athletes an opportunity to be involved in the sport in an environment of support and solidarity.

We aim to operate with dignity and respect in the sporting community and hence further breakdown barriers to do with equality and discrimination.

We also hope to win lots of races.

QRAV - Melbourne Argonauts has completed it's first season and has had several wins on the board!

Currently the Association is in negoatiation with several bodies in order to bring rowing to Gay & Lesbian Youth throughout the state of Victoria.

The club is currently setting up ties with the Gay & Lesbian Youth Communities throughout Victoria to assits Gay & Lesbian youth in developing a healthy self image at a time which is traditionally emotionally difficult.

We are currently raising funds in order to purchase a new boat with which we can start our youth program.
