100.9fm Noongar Radio is Perth's only Aboriginal radio station. It was set up to serve the Noongar community of Perth, providing them with a media outlet that recongises, respects and affirms the distinct cultural identity of the Noongar people of South Western Australia.

The Intent of 100.9fm Noongar Radio:

Noongar Radio's mission is to provide a high quality radio broadcast service which promotes positive messages of Indigenous culture, whilst providing employment opportunites for people in our community.

The station is entirely Indigenous owned and run.

Recent Accomplishments of 100.9fm Noongar Radio:

100.9fm Noongar Radio was officially launched in Perth on Sunday July 5th 2009.

Noongar Radio celebrated it's arrival on the Perth radio scene with a high profile live outside broadcast from the NAIDOC week Opening Ceremony in Wellington Square Perth.

The live broadcast event took the station directly to the audience base it was set up to serve - the Aboriginal community of Perth.

More than five thousand people attended the event on the day most of them to see Noongar Radio's inaugural Battle of the Didges  - the quest  to find Perth's best didge player . The event was an enormous success and will become a permanent fixture on the Perth NAIDOC calendar.
