Recent Accomplishments of Extended Hands Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Corporation:
Extended Hands does important work in supplying aid in many forms (food, clothing, blankets, toys, other materials and the like) to the homeless and disadvantaged in South East Queensland. Extended Hands is providing advocacy to foster carers within the Child Safety and Protection system in Queensland, have supported prisoners within the Queensland Correction Service and prisons abroad, supporting orphanages in Africa and have supported Fijian, and Indian orphanges. With the assistance of Extended Hands people have commenced their own businesses. This is what is meant by teaching people how to fish and not supplying fish to them. Some members are current Foster Carers within the Queensland Child Protection System. We also provide counselling to foster children, young mothers, and provide parenting programs within the Gold Coast region.
