Areas the community have identified that need attention:

1. Infrastructure, Industry and Economic Development (Service station etc)
2. Tourism (Caravan park etc)
3. Health and Wellbeing (Retirement Village, Nursing home etc)
4. Natural Environment (Beautify Main Street and around District etc)
5. Recreation/Leisure (Sporting facilities etc)
6. Education (Solar Panels, Library etc)

Goornong is a small country town in the Bendigo Shire that has very little to offer the community. The Goornong and District Community Group has been put together to help Goornong get back on the map. We are looking at services that Goornong and District really need. At present we have a General Store, Post Office, Silo manafacture and Hay sheds.

We, at the moment are looking for a grant/s to provide our local CFA with an office building.

A very successful launch of the Goornong and District Community Plan. We have recieved grants to help with the ease of day to day running of our organisation.

 We have Karate for the children in Goornong which started in Feb.

We have started , cleaning up the recreation reserve to bring back golf, Blue Light disco, shelter for high school children waiting for the bus. We are putting in a pump shed for the swimming pool, funding through the COGB as well as a 7foot fence for security to replace old one Goornong's swimming pool committee is paying for this to be done.
