Peel Bowling and Social Club began as Mandurah Blind Bowling Club, but we have now expanded to include All Abilities, opening the door for anyone with a disability to join. We play SOCIAL lawn bowls, no pennants, and Indoor Bowls, and can also offer modified games of Golf, Croquet and Bocce as well as Fling Darts. Our current premises are under threat for an expansion of our Aquatic Centre to house a 50m pool, but we have HUGE dreams to build a Community House especially for disabled people to utilise for their recreation. We want them and their Carers to HAVE FUN!! (We will not offer respite)

The Intent of Fur and Feathers Wildlife Rescue and Release Inc.:

Our Open Days this year are a way of making the community aware of what we can offer the disability sector. May's open day will see us raising funds for Cancer, with a "Bowl Over Cancer" tournament. September will Have a "show bag" typw theme, as this is our annual Royal show month, and Oct will focus on WA Week. We are forging partnerships with our Seniors Rec Council and Mandurah Carers Group. Our President is embarking on a series of visits to other groups to inform them of the "games" we can offer the community.

Recent Accomplishments of Fur and Feathers Wildlife Rescue and Release Inc.:

Our Club celebrated its 30th year on June 6th, with nearly 100 people attending, but it was under threat 2 yrs ago from a dwindling membership. This year, with a focussed committee, we have increased membership by 50% so far, and have planned 4 Open Days for the year. We have formed a development plan for our current premises as well as one for the Community House. The Club is now being raised to standards required for the 21st century.

Current Activities of Fur and Feathers Wildlife Rescue and Release Inc.:

In cojunction with Dudley Park Bowling Club, we are exploring a co-location program for the benefit of both Clubs. We WILL have to relocate & there is every possibility we can achieve our dream of a purpose-built facility for people with disabilities, who can come to a friendly, sharing environment and HAVE FUN. This will also be a place for their Carers to have fun, also.
