The aim of the Lake Cargelligo & District Historical Society Inc. is to foster active interest in the preservation, storage and display of the relics, artefacts, oral and written histories pertaining to our locality.

The Intent of Lake Cargelligo & District Historical Society Inc.:

A recent visit to Temora museum Open day was enjoyed by 10 of our members.
We have regular open days twice a year in June and October long w/ends which involves displays inside and outside the horseworks using local draught horses. Regular activities on Wednesdays includes general maintenance of the collections.
(dusting)etc Researching requests for local history and being open for the public.

Recent Accomplishments of Lake Cargelligo & District Historical Society Inc.:

In 2005 we had many weekend working bees and weekly meetings to clean up reorganise displays in our historical society. Our society has a very small volunteer base 15 members to achieve many large tasks with very limited financial assistance. Two major achievements in 2005 was the successful acceptance of a grant for a new sign for the museum and completion of a fenced yard for the horseworks which is used regularly for displays. The most recent activity was to travel 40 km from town to a property to view and pick an old grader to add to our large collection of farm machinery at the museum.
We worked very hard to form strategic plans, mission statement and work very hard
