Our aims and objectives are to assist the economic development of the town, which has been sadly neglected over many years. We were struck by the closure of the Aberdeen Meatworks in 1999 with the loss of nearly 400 jobs. The town has struggled to progress since this time, and we want to through liasing with council and other organisations to put this town back on the map.

As we are only a new group, we are still yet to truely get involved in any one particular thing. We have plans to hold special events and festivals throughout the year, to lift the profile of Aberdeen, through tourism and economic development.

We are only newly formed with incorporation only being granted in the last 2 weeks. We are unusual in the fact that we are one if not the only combined progress association and Chamber of Commerce. A role we hope, will be a leading force for other struggling communities
