To promote and manage the sport of pistol shooting as a safe, enjoyable, competitive and leisure sport to a wide variety of persons in a non discriminating environment at an International, National, State and Club level, and to provide appropriate training and facilities.

The Intent of QAPSA:

Provide a pathway through club and state competitions, for individuals and teams to be trained and selected as Qld representatives in the sport of pistol shooting, including Olympic, Commonwealth and Paralympic Games, Pistol Australia and NRA disciplines.
Training coaches, officials, juniors and adults in the safe conduct of the sport of pistol shooting.

Recent Accomplishments of QAPSA:

2002 Commonwealth Games - 3 Bronze Medals
2000 Olympics - 1 Bronze Medal

 

Current Activities of QAPSA:

Conduct of State Titles annually: for five disciplines of Pistol Shooting
Conduct of National Titles on rotation: 2008 and 2010

Participation in QAPSA:

Joining the group is restricted to: Those trying the sport must confirm that they are not a prohibited person and before joining a club will be subject to a stringent eligibility check through the Queensland Police Service.

Meeting Venue:

Our Association has 49 clubs throughout Queensland. Their members meet and compete according to the individual Club's program of events.

Our Association Office is based on the Belmont Shooting Complex in Belmont, Brisbane. Regular Committee of Management, Board and AGM Conferences are held on the Complex.

The venue is wheelchair accessible.

Meeting Times:

According to the individual programs of our affiliated Clubs for competition.

Board: Three per year

Annual General Meeting: Two Day Conference each year

Affiliation fees for the 2008-2009 year are:

Adults: $95.40

Junior: $47.70
